Robert Coghlan is based in the Sicilian city of Catania where he manages the Agorà Youth Hostel and the newly opened Hotel & Hostel Agorà 2.
Since graduating in 1996 from the D.I.T. Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management in his hometown of Dublin, Robert has worked in hostels and hotels in Dublin, London, Rome and Istanbul before settling in Sicily. The recent purchase of a house and the promise to marry his Sicilian girlfriend in 2009 means that Catania has become the permanent home for this stray Irish traveller.
A keen football fan, Robert dreams of seeing Catania play in the Champions League or, failing that, seeing Roma being relegated to Italian Serie B!!
Robert’s other dreams are to visit the ancient ruins of Greece and Egypt and to see a bridge being built across the Strait of Messina to increase the flow of tourists into Sicily from the rest of Italy.
Stay tuned for Robert's debut!

I knew this event would change my life. Ben Harper is my idol and I have been to his concert once before in New Zealand. This time in Italy I recognised the fact that none of my friends here had the same love and appreciation for this great man as myself and as a result I wanted to go alone, with no plans on how and when to arrive and how to return I knew there was no better way to go. This was the beginning. ...
Went to visit the bro last week in London. What better way to spend a freezing cold and wet day in London than perusing the high street stores, only this time I never got my feet wet. ...
The mighty Westfield shopping centre opened last week and I got the plastic ready, braved the foul footpaths of the Bush and rammed the buggy through the melee to the doors of the largest indoor shopping centre in Europe. ...
